For over two thousand years, Finns have used saunas as a social and therapeutic enjoyment. Saunas have been
hailed, and often scientifically proven, to benefit health through thermal therapy:
- Detoxification
- Improved Immune System
- Cardiovascular Conditioning and Weight Loss
- Muscle and Joint Stress Relief
- Improved Skin Complexion
- Rejuvenation for Mind and Spirit
Combining advanced engineering and Cal Heat’s distinctive innovation, our Saunas
enable you to enjoy this centuries-proven thermal therapy in the comfort and privacy of your own home –
either indoors or out. The stainless steel heater sauna models come in a variety of shapes,
seating arrangements, and sizes. A Cal Heat Sauna will be a treasured investment in your health, home, and
lifestyle – changing the way you feel®. |

The beneficial heat of Cal Heat Saunas enhances the body’s natural
detoxification process. Warmth causes capillaries to dilate, increasing blood flow, which in turn presses the
heart to pump faster. As a result of increased circulation, the body more quickly collects and flushes out
waste products from the liver, kidneys, stomach, muscles, brain, and other organs. The skin and kidneys then
filter the waste in the form of sweat and urine.
Skin is therefore often regarded as “the third kidney” because of its cleansing function – sweating out toxins
and waste from the body. A 15-minute sauna session excretes the same amount of heavy metals as the kidneys do
in a 24-hour period. In fact, sweating is such an effective detoxifier that some physicians recommend home
saunas to supplement kidney machines. Potentially harmful impurities that are removed from the body include
copper, lead, mercury, and zinc.¹
As the heart pumps harder, oxygen demand is also increased during sauna usage. The lungs, another key
eliminator of body waste, function more rapidly, exchanging carbon dioxide for oxygen. |

Saunas are also used to help boost and reinforce the immune system. During
a sauna session, the body’s temperature increases to an artificial fever-like state. This is the "fever" that
Hippocrates refers to: “Give me a fever and I can cure any disease.” Although not “any disease” can be cured
by a fever, it is common knowledge that a fever is the body’s natural defense to combating bacteria and viral
agents, both which do not survive well at temperatures higher than normal body temperature. In addition, it
is possible that damaged cells repair themselves quicker in fever conditions due to an increase in metabolic
rate. When fighting a cold, sitting in a sauna also helps to relieve nasal congestion and minor respiratory
discomforts.¹ |

With palms facing down, bend both of your wrists upward and then downward,
as shown. You can also exercise one wrist at a time by placing your free hand, thumb up, under the exercising
wrist for support. Hands and fingers should be relaxed. |
 |
The soothing, all-encompassing heat of the sauna provides relief to
stressed joints and tight muscles. As muscles are heated and warmed,
they become more flexible and have a greater range of motion. Increased blood circulation also helps the
body eliminate waste products, delivering oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscles, aiding in muscle
recovery. Lactic acid, which causes stiffness in muscles and contributes to general fatigue, is also drawn
out during a sweat session in the sauna. |
 |
Cal Heat Saunas also aid rejuvenation of the skin for a vibrant complexion.
As your body sweats in the heat of the sauna, perspiration flushes out impurities and releases dead skin cells.
Skin is cleansed from the inside out as increased circulation draws the skin's own natural nutrients to the
surface. As the heart pumps harder, oxygen is likewise delivered in greater amount to the skin. Regular sauna
usage promotes improved skin tone, elasticity, texture and clarity. Ultimately, sauna usage is ideal for
maintaining healthy skin – properly cared for skin is more resistant to acne, eczema, and psoriasis. |
